| Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you. You shall labor six days, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work— neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. | Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. | He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. | He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber. |
| Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good. | No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. |
| “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. | “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. |
| Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. | Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. |
| Salvation belongs to Yahweh. May your blessing be on your people. Selah. | From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. |
| Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. Don’t let him who doesn’t eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him. | The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. |
| If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. | Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. |
| Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. | Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. |
| Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!” | On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” |
| Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your loving kindness, and for your truth’s sake. | Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. |
