- By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. - Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
- If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
- I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
- What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
- So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.
- But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
but righteousness delivers from death. - But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules. - Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
- Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
- But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
- If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
- You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
- The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
- For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
