Mans (2/4)

What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar.A man’s attraction is his kindness; it is far better to be poor than to be a liar.
Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.Listen, my son, and take my words to heart, and the years of your life will be multiplied.
For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For since death came into the world through a man, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a man.
For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.The misfortunes of the righteous man are many, but the Lord delivers him, from all of them.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
For the Lord your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.The Lord, your God, will bless you as he promised you. You will lend to many nations, but borrow from none. You shall rule over many nations, but none shall rule over you.
When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent, but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent.
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the wits of his neighbor.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. For the Son of Man has come to seek out and to save what was lost.
I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass.I, I alone, am the one who comforts you. Why then do you fear mortal men who must die, human beings who must perish like grass?
In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. As sorrowful, and yet we are always rejoicing; as poor, and yet we make many rich; as having nothing, and yet we possess everything.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man. The man said, “This one is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken from man.” This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?With the Lord to protect me I am not afraid. What can mortals do to me?
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to place your trust in mortals.
And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. When you pray do not go on babbling endlessly as the pagans do, for they believe that they are more likely to be heard because of their many words.
A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.A gift opens doors for the giver and wins him access to the powerful.
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.A man may plan his own course, but the Lord makes his steps secure.
For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves in Christ.
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. The fear of others will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is secure.
So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
