What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.
Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.
For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
For the Lord your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass.I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass.
In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
