| For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. | For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. |
| In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. | This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. |

| He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. | Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them. |
| He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. |
| And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. | Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. |
| But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. | But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. |
| Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God. | But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. |
| Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. | Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” |
| In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. | My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? |
| Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. | You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. |
| Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. | Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. |

| But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. | But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” |

| Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. | We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. |
| Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. | And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. |
| Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. | See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. |
| For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. | Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. |
| For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law. | All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. |
| In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. | I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. |
| But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. | But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. |
| For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. | For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. |
