So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
Can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be seared?Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.
A fool’s wrath is known at once, But a prudent man covers shame.Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!
Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain. And the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” But He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?” And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.
The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; The simple pass on and are punished.The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.
For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
