Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.
You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”And he would answer and say to them, “The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise.”
But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written: “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you.
A newly married man must not be drafted into the army or be given any other official responsibilities. He must be free to spend one year at home, bringing happiness to the wife he has married. When a man takes a new wife, he is not to go out with the army, nor be assigned any duty; he shall be free at home for one year and shall make his wife whom he has taken happy.

To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. One who loves discipline loves knowledge, But one who hates rebuke is stupid.
Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol. They decorate it with gold and silver and then fasten it securely with hammer and nails so it won’t fall over. Their gods are like helpless scarecrows in a cucumber field! They cannot speak, and they need to be carried because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of such gods, for they can neither harm you nor do you any good. For the customs of the peoples are futile; For it is wood cut from the forest, The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. They decorate the idol with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not totter. They are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot walk! Do not fear them, For they can do no harm, Nor can they do any good.
Slaves must always obey their masters and do their best to please them. They must not talk back or steal, but must show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. Then they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive in every way.Urge slaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be pleasing, not argumentative, not stealing, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his female slave, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
And do everything with love. All that you do must be done in love.
Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike. So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.
You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord.

You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.So you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the Lord.
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.

But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I have given everything to you, as I gave the green plant. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear?I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass.
Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
