- All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue. - If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
- Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior. - When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin. - The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
- But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. - Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God. - If you love me, keep my commands.
- Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me. - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. - This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
- I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief. - Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. - Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands. - I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.” - My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity. - Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name. - Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
- Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many.
I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Next verse!With image
