Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.Nevertheless in your manifold mercies you didn’t make a full end of them, nor forsake them; for you are a gracious and merciful God.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
