| Can a woman forget the infant at her breast; or feel no compassion for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. | If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening. | Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. |
| Seek the Lord while he still may be found; call to him when he is close at hand. | Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. |
| And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God. | For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. |
| What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not! | What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. |

| A fool is quick to show his anger, but a prudent man ignores an insult. | A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. |
| The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth, and our toil adds nothing to it. | The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. |
| Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time. | And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |

| The powerful suffer want and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing. | The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. |
| Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. | I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. |
| When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill the vow you have made. | When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. |
| No one can serve two masters. For you will either hate the one and love the other or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. | No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. |
| What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. |
