- But I am the Lord your God
from the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
- O Lord, all my longing is before you;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
- Our God is in the heavens;
he does all that he pleases. - Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. - The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
- These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
- Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
- To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and remembrance
are the desire of our soul. - As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! - God shall bless us;
let all the ends of the earth fear him! - For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. - Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God. - God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
- But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
- Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
hold not your peace at my tears!
For I am a sojourner with you,
a guest, like all my fathers.
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
