What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? | What then if you were to behold the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? |

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. | God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth. |
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. | By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. |
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. | Whoever possesses the Son possesses life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not possess life. |
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. | This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples: if you love one another. |
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. | This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. |
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. | What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. |
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. | Dear children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. |
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. | God abides in anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that person abides in God. |
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. | This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. |
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. | And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. |
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. | For from the beginning you have heard the message that we should love one another. |
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. | And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. |
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. | If we claim that we have fellowship with him while we continue to live in darkness, we are lying and do not live in the truth. |
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. | Everyone who sins breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness. |
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. | Until now, in my name, you have not asked for anything. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. |
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again. “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” |
