Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. - But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
- But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
- But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
- Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm. - The hope of the righteous will be gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked will perish. - The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
And will not at all acquit the wicked.
The Lord has His way
In the whirlwind and in the storm,
And the clouds are the dust of His feet.
