Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.

Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.Haughtiness goes before destruction; humility precedes honor.
A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.Giving a gift can open doors; it gives access to important people!
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.To acquire wisdom is to love yourself; people who cherish understanding will prosper.
Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the Lord can give an understanding wife.
Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death.
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.Loyalty makes a person attractive. It is better to be poor than dishonest.
It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.

It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost.
