do not let me stray from your precepts. - I treasure your word in my heart
for fear that I may sin against you. - I rejoice in following your statutes
more than I would rejoice in endless riches. - I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I have set your judgments before me. - Dispose my heart to follow your statutes
and to flee selfish gain. - I will walk in complete freedom
because I have sought your commands. - I will make haste and not delay
to observe your precepts. - Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life. - Your word is a lamp for my feet
and a light to my path. - Your statutes are my everlasting heritage;
they are the very joy of my heart. - You are my refuge and my shield;
I put my hope in your word. - The explanation of your words gives light
and imparts understanding to the simple. - Guide my steps in accord with your word
and never let evil triumph over me. - Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. - Those who love your law have great peace;
they encounter no stumbling blocks. - Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues. - I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
from where will I receive help?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - He will not permit your foot to stumble;
he who guards you will not fall asleep. - The Lord will protect you against all evil;
he will watch over your life.
The Lord will watch over your coming and your going
both now and forevermore. - Our help is in the name of the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
