Psalm 71 (7/9)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.I will instruct you and guide you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and keep my eyes upon you.
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. For the word of the Lord is true, and he is faithful in everything he does.
The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is filled with his kindness.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those who trust in his kindness.
May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us, for we have placed our hope in you.
I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will be continually on my lips.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he set me free from all my fears.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. In my anguish I cried out; the Lord heard my plea, and I was saved from all my troubles.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. The powerful suffer want and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing.
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Then keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.Shun evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. The face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil, to erase all memory of them from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous call out, and the Lord hears them; he rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord remains close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those whose spirit is crushed.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.The misfortunes of the righteous man are many, but the Lord delivers him, from all of them.
The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.Put your trust in the Lord and do good, that you may dwell in the land and be secure.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.Take delight in the Lord, and he will grant you what your heart desires.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.Commit your way to the Lord; place your trust in him, and he will act. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, and the justice of your cause, like the noonday.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.Wait quietly for the Lord and be patient until he comes. Do not fret over the man who prospers because of his evil schemes.
Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.Preferable is the little that the righteous possess than the great wealth of the wicked. For the power of the wicked will be overcome, but the Lord protects the righteous.
The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously. The wicked man borrows but neglects to repay, whereas the righteous man is generous in giving.

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.The Lord makes a man’s steps secure when he approves of his conduct.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
