- Preach the message; be persistent in doing so, whether in season or out of season; convince, reprove, and encourage, but with great patience and instruction.
- If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.
- I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent.
- You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life;
a poor man never has to worry about such threats. - My son, do not ignore the Lord’s discipline
or refuse to accept his rebuke.
For the Lord disciplines those whom he loves,
just as a father chastises a beloved son. - If you would seriously consider my reproof,
I would pour out my thoughts to you
and make my precepts known to you. - And learn to do good.
Pursue justice and rescue the oppressed;
listen to the plea of the orphan
and defend the widow. - Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life,
but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. - If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
- The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
a warrior and a savior.
He will rejoice over you with gladness
and renew you through his love.
He will exult over you with shouts of joy. - Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may show yourselves blameless and beyond reproach, children of God without spot in the midst of an evil and depraved generation, among which you shine like lights in the world as you hold fast tenaciously to the word of life.
- Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but the one who hates correction is stupid.
May the Lord, our God, be with us, just as he was with our fathers; may he not leave us or abandon us.
