Romans 6-23 (3/4)

  • Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
  • For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.
  • Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
  • Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
  • For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
  • But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
  • As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.
  • Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
  • Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
  • One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
  • For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.
  • For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.”
  • Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
  • Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
  • For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
  • May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.
  • Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
  • May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
  • So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
  • I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.
  • The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
  • Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
