Chinese (traditional)- A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes. - In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. - Help us, God our Savior,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us and forgive our sins
for your name’s sake. - The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
- For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
- May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
- For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
