Say (2/4)

Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed. And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart. My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.”
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”
We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to the Lord!
Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned. But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.Next verse! With image
