Or has he spoken, and he won’t make it good? | God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? |

But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified. | No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. |

Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. |

For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own. | But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. |
You shall be holy to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that you should be mine. | You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. |
See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. | See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
