Bible Verses about 'Sin'

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.”
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.
I treasure your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against you.I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You.
What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. How blessed is he whose wrongdoing is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!
Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the guilt of my sin. SelahI acknowledged my sin to You, And I did not hide my guilt; I said, “I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not make room for the devil.Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.
For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.
Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin.

But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin). Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.
So that, just as sin exercised dominion in death, so grace might also exercise dominion through justification leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.So that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
