And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’ | I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’ |
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. | Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. |
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. | Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. |
Protect me, God, for I take refuge in You. | Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. |
From my distress I called upon the Lord; The Lord answered me and put me in an open space. | When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. |
God blesses us, So that all the ends of the earth may fear Him. | May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him. |
For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears attend to their prayer, But the face of the Lord is against evildoers. | For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. |
Hate evil, you who love the Lord, Who watches over the souls of His godly ones; He saves them from the hand of the wicked. | Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. |
For You are my rock and my fortress; For the sake of Your name You will lead me and guide me. | Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. |
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? | He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? |
My times are in Your hand; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. | My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. |
But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. | But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. |
One person values one day over another, another values every day the same. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. | One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. |
Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent over double, and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she stood up straight again, and began glorifying God. But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does each of you on the Sabbath not untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it? And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this restraint on the Sabbath day?” And as He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him. | On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.” The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing. |
The Lord is my shepherd, I will not be in need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. | The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. |
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. | For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. |
And He said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.” | Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” |
If an army encamps against me, My heart will not fear; If war arises against me, In spite of this I am confident. | Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. |
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness. | But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. |
Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithfulness; According to the greatness of Your compassion, wipe out my wrongdoings. Wash me thoroughly from my guilt And cleanse me from my sin. | Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. |
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. | I can do all this through him who gives me strength. |
I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. | I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. |
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. | I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. |
Yet I have been the Lord your God Since the land of Egypt; And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me. | But I have been the Lord your God ever since you came out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me. |
Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far away. | You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. |
