Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Speech'
- Excellent speech is not fitting for a fool,
Much less are lying lips to a prince. - Rid yourself of a deceitful mouth
And keep devious speech far from you. - May my teaching drip as the rain,
My speech trickle as the dew,
As droplets on the fresh grass,
And as the showers on the vegetation. - The heavens tell of the glory of God;
And their expanse declares the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge. - Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.
- Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
- The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride, arrogance, the evil way,
And the perverted mouth, I hate. - Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
- When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable,
But one who restrains his lips is wise. - For,
“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,
Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
He must turn away from evil and do good;
He must seek peace and pursue it.” - For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.
- Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
- Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak,
For the rights of all the unfortunate.
Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
