- Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself;
thus my lips will speak your praise.
I will bless you all my life;
with uplifted hands I will call on your name. - But I will sing of your strength;
when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness.
For you have been my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. - Rend your hearts and not your garments,
and turn back to the Lord, your God.
For he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and always prepared to relent from punishing. - After you have suffered for a brief period, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and support you.
- A man’s attraction is his kindness;
it is far better to be poor than to be a liar. - Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. - But from everlasting to everlasting
the kindness of the Lord is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children,
with those who keep his covenant
and diligently observe his commandments. - Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.
- What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy. - Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you;
fasten them around your neck
and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will gain favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
