Strength (2/2)

At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
The name of the Lord is a tower of strength; the upright man runs to it and finds refuge. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.
Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright, but destruction for evildoers. The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked.
For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger. For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing.
Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart find favor in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
A cheerful heart is excellent medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
Yours, O Lord, are greatness, power, glory, strength, and majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.
Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers. The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.
By faith Abraham also received the power of procreation, even though he was well past the age—and Sarah herself was barren—because he believed that the one who had made the promise would be faithful in fulfilling it.It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.
But he answered me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Hence, I will boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell within me.Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
Preferable is the little that the righteous possess than the great wealth of the wicked. For the power of the wicked will be overcome, but the Lord protects the righteous. It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly.
To you, O God of my fathers, I offer thanks and praise because you have given me wisdom and power. Now you have made known to me what we asked of you; you have revealed to us the king’s dream.I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded.
And not only that, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we realize that suffering develops perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Jesus then said to her,
“I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me,
even though he dies, will live,
and everyone who lives
and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?”
