Bible Verses about 'Suffer'

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.

Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, Than great treasure with trouble.Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
