Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him. | It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. |
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. | Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |
All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. | But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. |
And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. | And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. |
