Chinese (traditional)- This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
- So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
- This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. - There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
- Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. - Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.
- May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
- So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
- I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
- I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
- If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.
- No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
- For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
- You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
- By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- Let all that you do be done in love.
- Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
- You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you.
- If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
- Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind!
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
