And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. | And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. |
For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. | For the Lord takes delight in his people, and he crowns the humble with salvation. |

Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. | Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. |
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. | It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. |
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. | You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain. |
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch that does not bear fruit, and every branch that does he prunes to make it bear even more. |
He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. | The one who leads a blameless life and does what is right, who speaks the truth from the heart and does not slander anyone, who does not harm a friend and does not scorn a neighbor. |
Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. | This is the conclusion I have reached: it is fitting for a man to eat and drink and find satisfaction in the results of his labors under the sun during the brief span of life that God has allotted him. |
Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.” | Prepare in advance what you want to say, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Take away all guilt and give us what is good, so that we may present as offerings the bullocks from our stalls.” |
Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. | I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown. |
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. | And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. |
When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken. | If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married. |
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. | I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to protect them from the evil one. |
“If you will not hear, And if you will not take it to heart, To give glory to My name,” Says the Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take it to heart.” | If you refuse to listen to me and do not sincerely resolve to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send a curse on you, and I will turn your blessings into a curse. Indeed, I have already done so because you have not heeded my warning. |
Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. | Your statutes are my everlasting heritage; they are the very joy of my heart. |
Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will. | Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done. |
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. | With his feathers he will shelter you, and you will take refuge under his wings; his faithfulness serves as a protective shield. |
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” | Then he said to all who were with him, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.” |
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. | Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength. |
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” | While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after he had pronounced the blessing, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take this and eat; this is my body.” |
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” | After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.” |
So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. | You shall serve the Lord, your God. He will bless your bread and water and take away sickness from your midst. |
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. | After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight. |
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. | I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place. |
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. | You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you. |
