What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? | What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? |
Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? | Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? |

There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known. | But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. |
And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. | And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. |
But I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the end he will stand upon the dust. | But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth. |
This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. | In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. |
Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul. | Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. |
Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full. | Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward. |
And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us. | This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. |
Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. | These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. |
Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
Now in regard to the eating of meat sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world and that there is only one God. | Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one. |
Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe. | Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. |
Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged. | Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged. |

You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble. | You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder. |
But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. | Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. |
If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. |
For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance. | Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. |
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may attain eternal life. | For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. |
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch that does not bear fruit, and every branch that does he prunes to make it bear even more. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. |
God abides in anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that person abides in God. | Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. |
