- He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
But he who is careless of his ways will die. - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
- Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. - He will again have compassion on us,
And will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins
Into the depths of the sea. - Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. - A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back. - But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- A fool’s wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame. - Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
- Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
- And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.

- For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

- You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled. - A fool has no delight in understanding,
But in expressing his own heart. - For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.
- The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious,
But the lips of a fool shall swallow him up. - Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
- Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.
- The ransom of a man’s life is his riches,
But the poor does not hear rebuke. - Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright. - For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.
