And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. | And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. |
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. | Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. |

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. | He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. |
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. | And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. |
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. | And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. |
When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. | And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing. |
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. | But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. |
Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions. | Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. |
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. |
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. | These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. |
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. | These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. |
The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. | And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. |
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. | Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. |
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. |
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. | Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. |
Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them. | Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. |
These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. | But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. |
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” | But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. |
They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. | How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. |
Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have. | Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? |
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. |
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. | Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. |
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. | And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. |
