- No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
- A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
- For the mountains shall depart,
and the hills be removed;
but my kindness shall not depart from thee,
neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed,
saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever. - Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live:
I will lift up my hands in thy name. - Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.
- Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses;
for they have been ever of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth,
nor my transgressions:
according to thy mercy remember thou me
for thy goodness' sake, O Lord. - If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
- If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
- Hatred stirreth up strifes:
but love covereth all sins. - And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- Let all your things be done with charity.
- But I will sing of thy power;
yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning:
for thou hast been my defence
and refuge in the day of my trouble. - Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
- The Lord is good,
a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him. - And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
- This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
- And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
- Great peace have they which love thy law:
and nothing shall offend them. - And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
- Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
