We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. |
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. | Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” |

The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. | The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. |
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. | The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. |
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. | The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. |
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. | Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. |
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. | Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. |

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. | And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. | The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. |
Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. | Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me. |
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. | And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. |
