| For we walk by faith, not by sight. | For we live by faith, not by sight. |
| I will walk in complete freedom because I have sought your commands. | I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts. |

| Or can a man walk on red-hot coals without scorching his feet? | Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? |
| Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in accord with the law of the Lord. | Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. |

| The Lord has told you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? | Although we are human beings, we do not engage in battle according to human standards. | For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. |
| However, if we live in the light as he himself is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son purifies us from all sin. | But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. |
| And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good. | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? |
| If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. | Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. |
