| Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes. | Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. |

| Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving. | Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. |
| Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted. | Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. |

| Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. | Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. |
| Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. | Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. |
