- How much better to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
- But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.
- But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
- Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
- Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound. - The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth. - Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
For You render to each one according to his work. - For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
- Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. - To do righteousness and justice
Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength. - Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
- It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy,
And afterward to reconsider his vows. - He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in the power of your hand to do so. - And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
- For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
- And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
- As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.
- Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil. - Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness.
