Water to drink (2/4)

  • They will never be hungry or thirsty any more. The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them and leads them to springs of life-giving waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
  • These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat whatever has fins and scales. You shall not eat whatever doesn’t have fins and scales. It is unclean to you.
  • Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh,
and whose confidence is in Yahweh.
For he will be as a tree planted by the waters,
who spreads out its roots by the river,
and will not fear when heat comes,
but its leaf will be green,
and will not be concerned in the year of drought.
It won’t cease from yielding fruit.
  • This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  • He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.
  • He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day. Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up. When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water? Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
  • But let justice roll on like rivers,
and righteousness like a mighty stream.
  • But they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
  • When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
  • Not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.
  • It is he who builds his rooms in the heavens, and has founded his vault on the earth; he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth—Yahweh is his name.
  • For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
  • So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
  • I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
  • For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.
  • Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
  • For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • It is better to take refuge in Yahweh,
than to put confidence in man.
  • The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,
to proclaim release to the captives,
recovering of sight to the blind,
to deliver those who are crushed.
  • Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • Who “will pay back to everyone according to their works.”
  • If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
  • If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.
  • Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
  • Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
