- Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
- Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
- Defend the poor and fatherless:
do justice to the afflicted and needy. - He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
- For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
- For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
- Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
- Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
- The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger:
but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. - My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever. - Hast thou not known?
hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding. - Surely he hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
