| Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. | Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. |

| Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. | But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. |

| Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker— A piece of pottery among the other earthenware pottery pieces! Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’? | Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? |
| Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
