Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. | Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. |
Arise, Yahweh! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless. | Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. |
|
Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment. | The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. |
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more. | For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. |
The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. | The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. |
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death. | Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. |
He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. | He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. |
We have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances. | We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. |
Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. | Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. |
Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. | See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. |
Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. | Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. |
Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator. | Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. |
Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things. | Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. |
