Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
For you are my rock and my fortress, therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me.Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart, when I learn your righteous judgments.I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.
Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men.Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.
Teach me your way, Yahweh. I will walk in your truth. Make my heart undivided to fear your name.Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear.But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness.I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
