| His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ | His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful in small matters, I will give you much greater responsibilities. Come and share your master’s joy.’ |

This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.” |
| Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. | Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. |

| When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” | He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” |
| For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. | For from the beginning you have heard the message that we should love one another. |
| Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. | Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. You received without payment; give in the same way. |
| Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. | May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. |
| As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. | His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue. |
| So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” | He answered, “Because you have such little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith as tiny as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain: ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” |
| The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. | Do the things that you have learned, received, and heard from me and that you saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. |
| Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. | Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak. |

| Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. | You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. |
| These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. | So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off. | In much the same manner will wisdom be sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will not be cut off. |
| Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” | Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” |
