| Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. | Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. | He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. |

| Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors. | He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. |
| Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. | Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. |
| For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it. | For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. |
| Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray. | Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. |
| Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today. | But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. |
