- For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- How much more valuable a man is than a sheep! Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life.
- Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted.
- Seek good and not evil,
so that you may live.
Then the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you
as you claim he is. - And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”
- But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.”
- Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who bears good news and proclaims glad tidings,
announcing salvation and saying to Zion,
“Your God is king.” - And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
- No one should seek his own advantage in preference to that of his neighbor.
- Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
- For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.
- But now the righteousness of God that is attested by the Law and the Prophets has been manifested apart from law: the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. No distinction has been made.
- We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom.
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
- I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
- I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
- A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.
- How wonderful and delightful it is
for brothers to live together in unity. - You intended to do evil to me, but God decided to make it serve a good, to fulfill that which today has come true: to keep alive a numerous people.
- He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.
