- When I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you. - I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live.
I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. - Even to old age I am he,
and even to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear.
Yes, I will carry, and will deliver. - I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!” - I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.
- I wait for Yahweh.
My soul waits.
I hope in his word. - Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
- I will walk in liberty,
for I have sought your precepts. - I will strengthen the house of Judah,
and I will save the house of Joseph.
I will bring them back,
for I have mercy on them.
They will be as though I had not cast them off,
for I am Yahweh their God, and I will hear them. - Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.
- In God, I praise his word.
In God, I put my trust.
I will not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you.
Yes, I will help you.
Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. - Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations.
I will be exalted in the earth. - I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. - I have chosen the way of truth.
I have set your ordinances before me. - I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask.
I am found by those who didn’t seek me.
I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name. - Where could I go from your Spirit?
Or where could I flee from your presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, you are there.
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! - For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand,
saying to you, ‘Don’t be afraid.
I will help you.’ - But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving.
I will pay that which I have vowed.
Salvation belongs to Yahweh. - For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.
- I will be glad and rejoice in you.
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - I acknowledged my sin to you.
I didn’t hide my iniquity.
I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh,
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. - I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart,
when I learn your righteous judgments. - As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
- Whom do I have in heaven?
There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.
I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.Next verse! With image
