Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you. You shall labor six days, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work— neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. | You shall observe the Sabbath by keeping it holy, as the Lord, your God, has commanded you. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. | He will not permit your foot to stumble; he who guards you will not fall asleep. |
Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good. | No one should seek his own advantage in preference to that of his neighbor. |
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. | For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. |
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. | Let marriage be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for those who are immoral and adulterers will have to face God’s judgment. |
Salvation belongs to Yahweh. May your blessing be on your people. Selah. | Salvation comes from the Lord. May your blessing be upon your people. Selah |
Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. Don’t let him who doesn’t eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him. | The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both. |
If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. | If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. |
Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. | Entrust everything that you do to the Lord, and your plans will turn out to be successful. |
