- For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
- Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.
- For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. - For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
- So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
- He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
But he who is careless of his ways will die. - The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore. - Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
- The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. - And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
- Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
- I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. - As in water face reflects face,
So a man’s heart reveals the man. - They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
- That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- Treasures of wickedness profit nothing,
But righteousness delivers from death. - For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
- He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
He who keeps understanding will find good. - Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
- Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
- In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
