- And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’
- So I will prove Myself great, show Myself holy, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the Lord.
- And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
- “And I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord,” declares the Lord God, “when I show Myself holy among you in their sight.”
- And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all offenses. - Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time.
- But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
- Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who wait for His faithfulness. - Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Exalt Him who rides through the deserts,
Whose name is the Lord, and be jubilant before Him.
A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows,
Is God in His holy dwelling. - And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds. - Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- God raised up His Servant for you first, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.
- Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name.
- I have treasured Your word in my heart,
So that I may not sin against You. - And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
- And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
- A gentle answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger. - The vine has dried up
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree,
All the trees of the field have dried up.
Indeed, joy has dried up
From the sons of mankind. - And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- Sober up morally and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- Looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- If I should say, “My foot has slipped,”
Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me. - While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
